Appointment of new SRCC chair
Comcare’s CEO Paul O’Connor has welcomed the Governor General’s appointment of Mr Peter Henneken as the new Chair of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission (SRCC).
Mr Henneken brings a wealth of experience in workers’ compensation and occupational health and safety to the SRCC. He has been a member of several boards including the Queensland Workers’ Compensation Regulatory Authority and WorkCover Queensland.
Mr Henneken was a long time Director General of the Queensland Department of Employment and Industrial relations. Most recently, Mr Henneken served as Director General of the Queensland Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation.
Mr O’Connor said he looks forward to working with Mr Henneken to build a more responsive, relevant and resilient organisation in partnership with the community Comcare serves.
Mr O’Connor also thanked Professor Ellis for her excellent stewardship of the SRCC during her time as acting Chair.
