The search is on for Australians and Australian workplaces that have demonstrated occupational health and safety solutions leading to a healthier and safer workplace. The Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission (SRCC) are now accepting nominations from eligible participants for the 2008 SRCC Safety Awards.
To be held in Canberra on Thursday 23rd October, the 8th annual SRCC Safety Awards will promote the workplace safety achievements of organisations operating in the federal occupational health and safety scheme.
“These national awards are an opportunity for individuals and organisations to showcase their solutions for a safer workplace” says SRCC Chairman, Mr Les Taylor.
Previous winners of the SRCC Safety Awards include the Department of Defence, Optus, the Department of Health and Ageing and Linfox.
SRCC Safety Award winners then progress to the national awards. The winner of the 2007 SRCC Award for Best Individual Contribution to Workplace Health and Safety, Capt Sharryn Batt, also won the national award.
