SRCC

The Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission (SRCC) is a statutory body with regulatory functions relating to workers' compensation and an oversight role relating to work  health and safety (WHS).

The SRCC seeks improvement in WHS, rehabilitation and workers' compensation in the Commonwealth jurisdiction by:

  • setting targets to improve health and safety standards in the workplace
  • monitoring WHS, rehabilitation and compensation performance
  • providing advice to the Minister on issues related to improving WHS, rehabilitation and workers' compensation.

Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission chairperson resigns

On 27 March 2014, the Hon. Cameron Dick, chairperson of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission, wrote to the Governor-General and the Minister for Employment, Senator the Hon Eric Abetz, to advise them of his resignation, which took effect that day. Mr Dick’s resignation follows his endorsement as a candidate for the Queensland Legislative Assembly by the Queensland Branch of the Australian Labor Party.
